August Calendar Download | Creative Type A

Hey stranger! I know, it’s been a while. You might have been wondering where the hell I’ve been. I should have been thoughtful and made a going away post before I packed up, but I didn’t. I did put a little heads up on my contact page, and had my email auto-responder on.

So…. I MOVED! Yeah, it feels so good to say that. I’ve moved to beautiful Southern Oregon for a much needed lifestyle change. It was the move from hell. Seriously, you think you’ve had it bad? Umm, no, my move takes the cake.

A late closing on our condo in Portland and an even later closing on our new home here. We lived in a motel for almost a week, paying ungodly amounts for an overdue moving truck. Our car broke down, and I seriously did not have internet for over a week. Yes, I repeat, a whole week! I was going through some serious withdrawals. And no, I’m not one of those people with an expensive phone plan. I have no data on my fancy iphone because I’m thrifty like that.

But I'm going to make it up to you with a free download. I know I missed half of August already, but that doesn't mean you can't have this super cool August calendar download on you phone. Just click on the image, and save to your photo stream. You know the rest...

So, now that I’m swimming through my inbox from the past two weeks, I’m ready to get back in the saddle. Sad to say I probably missed out on a few new clients while I was away, but I wouldn’t have been any good stressing over my life in boxes.

Fortunately with all this non-internet time, I’ve really been able to evaluate my business and where I want it to go. When I first started the new Creative Type A, I wanted to make a go to place for business tips and resources. But as I dove deeper into these topics, I realized that my heart just really isn’t in it.

That’s not to say that I will never share tips. If I learn something new or have a tricky client dilemma and think the world should know, then you betcha, I’m going to write about it. But to make posts about things that don’t make my heart sing seems to be counterproductive.

Looking back on my July goals, I totally failed. And that’s ok, we all fail at times. I still want to get these goals checked off, but I think a little tweaking might be in order. So, to recap my June/July goals:

Finish website

I still will be getting my website finished. It may take me a while as I am still unpacking and have some house projects to start and finish, which may be a month [or two.]

Track my work time

Tracking my work time will now be as important as ever, I need to be serious about this and start ASAP!

Stick to a blog schedule and time limit

I think it would be best to sit down once a week, write three posts, schedule them, and go about my work week. This will allow me to stay consistent with my posts and keep the time limited to one work day [maybe half a day?]

Create one free resource

I think I’ll be putting this one on the back burner for now. I have a lot of balls in the air, and need to get a little more settled before I can devote some time to a free resource. I think once I have a month down of time tracking and blog scheduling then I can squeeze in some time.

That’s all for now, happy August, sorry I missed half of it. Enjoy your free calendar download, or check out other freebies from Creative Type A!
